Our Mission with a 2Gen Approach
“I Have A Dream” Foundation (IHDF) provides individualized social, emotional and academic support to students from historically marginalized communities from first grade to first job, along with guaranteed post-secondary tuition support.
In the 2022-23 school-year IHDF-Milwaukee (IHDF-MKE) launched a new cohort in partnership with the Milwaukee Academy of Science, with intensive and intentional focus on supporting not only “Dreamers” (youth served by “I Have A Dream” Foundation), but also their families, through intergenerational wrap-around support to help bridge equity and resource gaps, and promote stability, well-being, and thriving.
Educate. Empower. Achieve.
At the "I Have A Dream" Foundation, we provide long-term individualized social, emotional, and academic support to young people from low-income communities from kindergarten all the way through post-secondary education, along with guaranteed tuition support. We believe that when given equal access to the resources they need to succeed, all children can ignite their innate potential and achieve their dreams.
Dreamers are over 3x more likely to earn a bachelor’s degree than their peers.
90% of IHDF-NY Dreamers graduate
High School, compared to 66% of peer groups in NYC.
College graduates earn, on average, an additional $1 Million in lifetime earnings.
Don’t just take our word for it. Hear it from our Dreamers.
